Down in London Excel to see the start and finish of my designs, I will be following the the whole build of one of my designs that was won - Saudi Pavilion
So I managed to to attend a half day seminar in London today.
It was quite an insightful to see how the future of technology is influencing the event and exhibition industrial. Although most that were showcased were not by all means ground breaking, I was rather impressed to see how technology such as the google glass could be put into context within the event sector. It seems the possibilities are quite endless, the seminar talked through using it for networking whereby it could use facial recognition to identify the delegates attending, Another technology that I was impressed with was created by a company called Event Metrics. It is a very clever system whereby it collects and tracks via an RFID Chip imbedded into the registration badges, it can collect data of any delegate once entered in the venue, tracking their movements, possibly areas of interest whereby detecting the areas they visit. Another function of this software that was quite impressive was their Heat Map Function, it can show in 15 minute intervals where the areas of the event have the most activity or in layman’s terms more popular and of interest . All in All I think this was a very worthwhile event to attend. Finally decided to bite the bullet and splash out on my dream toy! a 3D Printer, i know the technology is still quite primitive compared to other products however i couldnt wait any longer! This is too cool! Here are some of the things I managed to make. Finally a year! time has flown since joining GES. I have accomplished quite a bit since being with GES, this year I was nominated for two awards: Best Newcomer and also Design & Creativity Award. As you may have guessed by the picture below, I was the winner of the 2013 Design & Creativity Award. I have to admit i am rather proud of this achievement as it has been such a short time i have been with GES. Finally got the chance to try the after tea at Sketch! Super nice decor the toilets are really cool! Site visit at Pure in Olympia, really nice to see the stands from design to build. |
